Striders Personal Bests from local events

We know parkrun isn’t a race, but your weekly finishing time is a great way to keep track of your fitness. However, there's another number that may actually be more useful - the "age graded percentage".

This recognises that our younger and more senior participants may not have legs that operate quite at the speed of those in their prime. (And by "more senior" we mean anyone no longer in their 20s...)

Age grading takes your time and uses the world record time for your sex and age to produce a score (a percentage). This score allows you to compare your personal performance against other people's performances even though they might be a different age and a different sex to you - the higher the score the better the performance.

The scores can also be compared across different race distances - to allow you to, for example, compare a 5km time against a marathon.

You can calculate your age graded scores reasonably closely by clicking here. Check out the percentage table list below and see how you fare:

Above 40% -   You’re faster/fitter than the average person

  • Above 50% -   You’re doing pretty good!

  • Above 60% -   Local club class level

  • Above 70% -   Regional class level

  • Above 80% -   National class Level

  • Above 90% -   World class level

  • Above 100% - World record level performance (although may not be official)
