Midweek League 10k Races

Midweek League is a series of 10k races held over May, June and July. Each club hosts one of the races on a well-marshalled course and sometimes offers light food and refreshment at the end. They are fantastic team evenings, a great excuse to run in a new or different area, and no runner is left behind. Speak to the head coach or captains if you have any questions after reading this page.

How does the league work/scoring?

Each midweek league finisher is given the number of points of their position i.e. if you finish 55th, you get 55 points. The scores of the first 12 men and the first 6 women in the club are accumulated. These aggregated scores are ranked among the other clubs and the top-performing club will be awarded 9 points down to the ninth club being awarded 1 point. This scoring system is used for each of the four scoring fixtures.

If there are up to (and including) 12 men and 6 women, everyone’s points contribute to the team’s ranking. If there are more than 12 men or 6 women, you ‘steal’ your position from other clubs meaning that position’s points cannot be redeemed by them - this improves our relative score could impact our ranking.

Clubs with larger teams may allocate A, B, etc. teams. These are additional groups of 12 men and 6 women, but are not considered as additional clubs in the final tables.

Live results get posted throughout the series on the Run Herts website here.
